Carl Janzen is a professional freelance musician who is versatile and versed in many styles including Rock/Pop/Blues/Jazz/R&B/Folk/Country/Classical. With over 10 years of performing, recording and teaching experience, Carl is comfortable in any situation whether he be on the concert stage, the studio or the classroom. His playing has been featured on numerous platforms including radio (CKUA, CJSW) and television (MuchMusic, CityTV, Shaw TV). He has been playing the guitar for 15 years and is also proficient on other instruments such as bass guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele and the drum set. He graduated from the Mount Royal University Music Performance program in 2009 while earning several scholarships, where he studied with Ralf Buschmeyer, Jim Brenan, Tyler Hornby and Rubim de Toledo. He has also briefly studied with saxophone giant Ralph Bowen and guitar legend John Abercrombie.
