Sean Perrin holds a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from The University of Calgary, where he studied clarinet with Steve Amsel. Over the course of his degree he developed a unique passion for contemporary music and was recognized for his creative recital programming and technological aptitude. In addition to the clarinet, Sean plays the saxophone, piano, acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, and is a skilled snare drummer and percussionist.
Sean is an active local performer and, in addition to solo recitals, has performed with numerous ensembles including The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO), The Red Deer Symphony, The Festival Chorus, Bow Valley Chorus, The University of Calgary Wind Ensemble and New Music Ensemble, Alberta Winds, and The Calgary Stampede Show Band.
Notable achievements with the CPO include live CBC broadcasts, and two professional CD recordings. Performances in the popular music realm include on-stage appearances with Keith Urban, Shania Twain, and Diana Krall.
Also an experienced teacher, Sean teaches privately and has done clinics for numerous public and private schools in and around Calgary. He has also been hired for summer contracts with The Department of National Defense.
In February 2012, Sean founded Rubbato Music, Inc., which provides lessons, performance, graphic design, and branding services for musicians and other small businesses.
