Shelly Groves is a freelance violinist, fiddler, violist and vocalist based in Crowsnest Pass, where she grew up. A former student of Bill van der Sloot and Lorand Fenyves, she holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from the Glenn Gould School. She has recorded with Calgary artists since 2005 and is a member of former Calgary band Axis of Conversation, as well as having appeared on the music of Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, Brooke Wylie, and others. She lives in Coleman with her husband Tynan, where they teach strings, piano, drums and vocals, raise children and keep bees.
