Lucie Jones - Mount Royal University Conservatory

A former member of Symphony Nova Scotia, Lucie Jones is currently principal flute with the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra and an extra player with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Jones also regularly performs solo recitals and chamber concerts and has been recorded by the CBC across Canada.

As a winner of the University of Calgary Concerto Competition in 2005/2006, Lucie had the opportunity to perform as soloist with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. More recently, Lucie was a winner of the 2008 and 2010 National Flute Association Performer's Competitions. Lucie has also been a featured performer with Calgary's Kensington Sinfonia, Mountain View Festival and a soloist with the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra and the Canadian University College Orchestra.

Ms. Jones is a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary and in the fall of 2007 joined the faculty at Mount Royal University Conservatory where she founded and is director of the Mount Royal Chamber Flutes. Being very committed to Chamber Music, Lucie is the President of the Instrumental Society of Calgary and the President of the Calgary Pro Musica Society.

Ms. Jones received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance from the University of Toronto and a Master of Music Degree in Performance from the University of Calgary. During her hiatus from music, Lucie received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and worked as a Software Engineer.
