Deanne, a native Calgarian, is a versatile singer with extensive experience in jazz, r&b, pop, musical theatre and a capella musical styles. The Calgary singer performs regularly with a duo, trio, combo and is the main vocalist for the Prime Time Big Band. Among her career highlights are representing the National Jazz Summit in a concert at the 100th Calgary Stampede, singing at the Calgary and Sylvan Lake jazz festivals and performing alongside special guests of the Prime Time Big Band, including a show with trumpet master Marvin Stamm, who said to her, “You have a beautiful instrument.”

Her first CD, Stealin’ Blue, recorded live, enjoyed top 10 jazz play in cities across Canada, and her latest studio EP, chillin’ and fillin’, also received Top 10 Jazz Albums on CJSW and is reaching appreciative listeners around the world. A strong believer that personal success is coupled with encouraging the success of others, she has opened up performing opportunities across Calgary, organized three women in jazz concerts that raised funds for charity, and is a mentor to young artists at The Calgary Arts Academy.

Matley has studied jazz at the Banff Centre, the Berklee College of Music, and privately, most recently with Marion Cowings in New York City. She is honoured and grateful to have received The 2013 Richard Cowie Memorial Scholarship award and attended the Stanford Jazz Institute this past summer, where had the extreme pleasure of singing alongside legendary jazz pianist Harold Mabern who said "This girl is a pro!"
