Born and raised in Calgary, Rob Maciak graduated with distinction from the University of Calgary's Department of Music in June of 2005, following which he started working as a freelance musician and educator. Rob's range of performance experience includes contemporary chamber music, orchestral and wind orchestra music, latin, jazz, fusion, and contemporary and jazz dance accompaniment. He has performed across Europe, North America and Oceania. Rob has performed regularly with six different professional orchestras in Western Canada, and has collaborated with artists including the Foreman-van Mourik Piano Duo, Jens Lindemann, Allen Vizzutti, Andréz Díaz, Dan Brubeck, Diana Krall, the Foothills Brass, the United States Army Brass Quintet, the Vancouver Chamber Choir, and the Elmer Iseler Singers. Rob has taught for Mount Royal University, the University of Lethbridge, the Banff Centre, the Vic Lewis International Music Festival, the Canadian Forces, various provincial music conventions, and over four hundred intermediary and secondary school music programmes across five provinces and eight of the United States.
