Members in financial need have access to the CMA’s Stan Brown Benevolent Fund for a loan of up to $1,000 to help with ongoing expenses (rent, food, dues, insurance).

Stan Brown (1926-2012) was a trumpet player and local officer who helped to establish and nurture the CMA. As well as playing with the Calgary Concert Band, Civic Symphony, Southern Stardust Band and the Fox Band, he also served the CMA through the years as an executive board member, Secretary Treasurer and President and oversaw the Health Welfare Fund, now named in his honour. We are grateful for the legacy of help he continues to provide members to this day.
