Contemporary Vocal Performance Coaching, VOCALS

With a history of over four decades in the performing and cultural arts sectors, as vocalist, performer, bandleader and consultant, overlapping with thirty years as an occupational therapist in the areas of medical and mental health, rehabilitation, special needs and long-term care, Flo brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her contemporary vocal coaching practice, Flo’s Vocal Arts Studio. Many might recall the years of Flo’s own groups, “Dynaflow” and “Take the OY Train”, in duo with the inimitable Bobby Van or Flo fronting any number of prominent orchestras and big bands. With a background in conservatory studies, including Calgary Opera Chorus, Flo’s musical pursuits led her to studying contemporary speech-level singing, which allowed her to combine the best of all worlds in her performance and stage shows. She has shared all of this since 2004 in her studio and full-time since 2014. Flo’s mission and passion is to help individuals of any age discover their vocal potential and be inspired. Flo teaches out of her private, controlled, home environment. Lessons are In-person and also Zoom when required, requested or necessary. Aligned with individual lessons are bonus experiential group activities and performance opportunities! Learn the best practice techniques while working on whatever songs you love most to sing along with, learn and perform; all styles and skill levels, including singer-songwriter-instrumentalists. Groups are designed for Juniors, Teens/Young Adults and Adults. Flo offers flexible scheduling, a variety of program and fee structure options and her venue has ample parking with amenities nearby.
