Double Bassist and Electric Bassist Kodi Hutchinson has been active on the Canadian music scene for over 15 years. His interest in a variety of musical styles have allowed him to work in a number of musical situations and genres. Whether it be jazz, soul, R&B, pop, country, celtic, big bands, or theatre productions, Kodi enjoys bringing his own unique musical perspective to the table. A versatile and passionate musician, Kodi has established himself as one of the top-call bassists in Western Canada.

Kodi has worked with artists such as Lee Konitz, PJ Perry, Walt Weiskopf, The Destino Tenors, Pear, Dave Restivo, Owen Howard, Hugh Fraser, Ingrid Jensen, Ross Taggart, Mike Murley, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Theatre Calgary, The Calgary Youth Singers, and Decidedly Jazz Danceworks just to name a few.

As an in-demand clinician and teacher, Kodi teaches privately, as well as visits numerous schools throughout Alberta. He is top clinician for both ‘The Clinic Line’ & ‘Banff Music Retreats’. Kodi is also an instructor for the Calgary Arts, St. Francis, and Wetaskiwin Summer Jazz Programs. Kodi has a lifelong love of music and performing, and brings this love and excitement to all of his students.

Kodi talents are in wide demand whether in the studio or on stage. His wide range of musical tastes, and versatile playing abilities have allowed him to tour and record with such artists as Sillan & Young , Johanna Sillanpaa, Karl Schwonik, Clanterra, & his own 2 time WCMA nominated jazz group; The Hutchinson Andrew Trio.
