Filipino-Canadian flutist Mollin Balisi is a passionate performer and dedicated teacher who recently made Calgary his home after moving from Winnipeg in 2022. He brings more than a decade of experience as both a chamber and orchestral musician, and he loves helping students of all ages discover confidence and joy through music.
Mollin holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Manitoba and a Master of Music from the University of Toronto. His studies were shaped by inspiring mentors—including Leslie Newman, Layla Roberts, and Laurel Ridd—and supported by numerous awards, such as winning the University of Manitoba Concerto Competition (2017/18) and the Winnipeg Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition (2012/13).
In Calgary, Mollin performs as an outreach musician and extra with the Calgary Philharmonic, playing both flute and piccolo, and is an active member of the Calgary Chamber Flutes.
Based in the Mission area, he maintains a welcoming and supportive teaching studio where students can grow their skills, build musical confidence, and enjoy the process of learning.
