Andrew Leitch is a Calgary-born trumpet player and clinician. He earned a Bachelor of Music and a BA in Psychology from the University of Calgary where he was active with ensembles including the Jazz Orchestra, Brass Choir, Orchestra, and multiple choirs. Andrew pursues his ongoing professional and musical growth through his work as a freelance performer and clinician.
Andrew has performed with Calgarian ensembles such as the Calgary Civic Symphony, Primetime Big Band, Fox Big Band, Calgary Youth Wind Ensemble, Calgary Arts Orchestra, as well as pit orchestras for productions such as Newsies and Spamalot.
As a multidisciplinary performer, Andrew has appeared on stage in musicals, operettas, and choirs. Andrew is a current and founding member of Long Time No Time, a pop-oriented horn band committed to original music.
When he is not wrangling 5 feet of brass tubing, Andrew is a sailing coach and learning facilitator, and spends much of his time running; often training for long distance races.
