Tricia Edwards is a Calgary area pianist who plays regularly in and around Calgary. Jazz, classical, latin, pop and salsa, solo or in combos, Tricia has a wide-ranging musical background to fit your event requirements. She works as soloist or with her own duo, trio or quartet combinations as well as freelancing with various groups large and small throughout the city.
In March 2009, she released her debut jazz CD, “Joy Spring”. As well, the Tricia Edwards Quartet played Calgary's Jazz Festival in June 2009 and she also performed as part of the Sylvan Lake Jazz Festival in August 2010.
Tricia has lived in Calgary for 12 years now, having previously lived and worked in Edmonton and the Middle East. She earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Alberta and did summer study programs at the Banff Centre and in Salzburg, Austria. She was the recipient of the 2009 Richard Harold Cowie Scholarship given by the Calgary Musician's Association and C-Jazz to further her jazz studies.
